Our commitment: gambling is entertainment, not income

Gambling should be one way of spending your free time, not a way of making money or of dealing with money worries. Every game on our site is designed so that, over time, the house keeps a margin. You should expect to lose what you stake, and you should only ever stake money you can comfortably do without.

We ask every player to decide on a budget before they play, treat that budget as the cost of an evening's entertainment, and stop when it is gone. Trying to win back what you have lost is the point at which play stops being entertainment, so we would rather you closed the session and came back another day.

Our services are for adults aged 18 and over only. We hold a gaming licence and verify the identity, age and address of account holders before play and withdrawals are fully open to them. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it, void any winnings and return the remaining deposited funds.

The safer gambling tools in your account

Every tool described here is free, open to all account holders and kept in the safer gambling section of your account. You do not need to give a reason for using one, and our team will never ask you to justify a limit or press you to raise it.

Deposit limits

A deposit limit caps how much money you can add to your account over a set period. You can hold a daily, weekly and monthly limit at the same time, choosing from the amounts and periods shown in the cashier. A lower limit applies immediately. A request to raise or remove a limit is held for a cooling-off period and must then be confirmed again by you; if you do nothing, your existing limit stays in place.

Loss and session limits

A loss limit caps the net amount you can lose over a chosen period, setting your stakes against your returns. A session limit caps how long a single logged-in session can run; when the time is up we tell you and close the session. Both are set alongside your deposit limits and follow the same rules on increases.

Reality checks

A reality check is an on-screen reminder that interrupts play at an interval you choose. It shows how long you have been playing and what you have staked and won in that session, and lets you either carry on or close the session from the reminder itself.

Time-outs

A time-out is a short, fixed break. Pick a period from the options in your account and we will close the account to play and to deposits for that time. You can still withdraw any remaining balance, and we stop sending you marketing while the break runs. A time-out cannot be lifted early.

Self-exclusion

Self-exclusion is a longer and firmer break, taken for a minimum of six months. Once it starts we close your account to play and deposits, take you out of all marketing, and will not reopen the account while the exclusion lasts. When the period ends the account stays closed until you ask us to reinstate it, and a further cooling-off period applies before you can play again. We also take reasonable steps to prevent you opening a new account with us during an exclusion.

How to switch a tool on

  1. Sign in and open the safer gambling section of your account.
  2. Choose the tool you want: a deposit, loss or session limit, a reality check, a time-out or self-exclusion.
  3. Pick the amount or the period from the options shown in your account.
  4. Confirm the change and look over the summary we display before it is saved.
  5. Keep the confirmation e-mail we send, which records what you set and when it takes effect.

If you cannot reach the section, or you want a limit or exclusion applied straight away, ask us on live chat or write to responsiblegaming@casino-hellofortune.co.uk and we will set it for you.

Signs that gambling may be becoming a problem

Problems rarely start suddenly. They usually show up first in how you feel about your play and in the small decisions around it. Read the list below honestly, as it applies to the last few months.

  • You gamble for longer or for more money than you planned to.
  • You stake more in order to win back money you have lost.
  • You borrow money, sell belongings or use money set aside for bills in order to gamble.
  • You hide how much you gamble, or play down your losses when you are asked.
  • You gamble to escape stress, boredom, loneliness or low mood.
  • Work, study, sleep, relationships or other interests are suffering.
  • You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
  • You have tried to stop before and found you could not.

If more than one of these rings true, set a deposit or loss limit today, or take a time-out while you think it over. If several do, please consider self-exclusion and speak to one of the organisations below.

Where to get free, confidential help

Help in the UK is free, confidential and available whether or not you are ready to stop gambling. You do not need a referral, and you do not need to have hit a crisis to make contact.

  • GambleAware funds and signposts free treatment and advice across Great Britain, and publishes clear information on gambling harm for players and for the people around them.
  • GamCare provides free counselling, structured treatment and ongoing support, delivered one to one, in groups or online, together with resources for family members.
  • GamStop is the free national self-exclusion scheme that blocks you from all gambling sites licensed in Great Britain, including ours, for a period of six months, one year or five years that you choose.
  • The National Gambling Helpline offers confidential advice and support at any hour of the day, by phone or live chat, for anyone worried about their own gambling or someone else's.

Alongside these services, it is worth telling someone you trust, speaking to your GP, and getting free independent debt advice if money is part of the problem. Blocking software that stops gambling sites loading on your devices, and bank card controls that block gambling payments, work well alongside a self-exclusion.

Protecting children and others in your household

Nobody under 18 may open an account, hold funds or play on our site. We check the age and identity of account holders, and we may ask for documents at registration, before a withdrawal or at any later point. Where a check cannot be completed, we restrict the account until it can.

Your account is yours alone. Please keep your password and payment details private, do not let anyone else use your log-in, lock your devices, and do not save card details or passwords in a shared browser. Letting another person play on your account breaks our terms and may cost you your balance.

If children or young people share your home or your devices, parental control and content-filtering tools can block gambling sites at the level of the device, the browser or your home network. Most operating systems, mobile devices and broadband services include such controls, and independent filtering software is widely available.

If you believe someone under 18 has used your account or has gambled with us, close the session, change your password and tell us at once on live chat, at support@casino-hellofortune.co.uk or at responsiblegaming@casino-hellofortune.co.uk, and we will look into it and secure the account.
